Biscayne National Park - Florida
Just south of the sprawling city of Miami lies Biscayne National Park — the blue-green expanse of Biscayne Bay and its associated coral reefs, islands, and mangrove forests. The park was established in 1980 to help control construction of power plants and other large scale developments in the region. Because the park is 95 percent water, it’s best enjoyed by boating, fishing, and snorkeling; there are only a few short trails on the park’s limited land base.
