Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve - Alaska

Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Southeast Alaska is a highlight of the state’s famed Inside Passage and includes 3.3 million acres of mountains, forests, glaciers, and waterways.  Most visitors see the park from the deck of a cruise ship and return home with fond memories of marine mammals and dramatic tidewater glaciers calving into the bay.  The more adventurous way to see the park is by kayaking in Glacier Bay, rafting the Alsek River, and hiking the large trail-less wilderness, but these require considerable experience and expertise.  Bartlett Cove, the only developed area in the park, offers a lodge and a few short trails.
