Kumano kodo - japan

The Kumano Kodo is a 200-mile network of ancient trails connecting a series of important spiritual shrines on the Kii Peninsula of Japan.  It traverses one of the most remote and mystical areas of the country, and includes deep valleys, dense forests, rivers, waterfalls, hot springs, agricultural areas, and rural villages. This pilgrimage is considered the eastern equivalent of the Camino de Santiago.
