The Maroon Bells – Snowmass Wilderness includes what may be the most photographed mountains in North America; this is quintessential Rocky Mountain high country. The area includes nearly 200,000 acres of wilderness and a system of trails that brings hikers over tall passes and deep into the interior of the area.

Maroon Lake reflects the images of 14,000-foot-plus Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak; perhaps this is the most photographed scene in the Rocky Mountains.
