National Park of American Samoa - American Samoa
This unusual US national park is scattered across three islands of American Samoa, a US territory in the heart of the South Pacific Ocean, an area beyond most national park visitors’ travel plans. The park preserves coral reefs, tropical rain forests, fruit bats, and elements of the Samoan culture. Much of the park is composed of coral reefs and ocean and features sea turtles, humpback whales, and many species of fish. Popular recreation activities include swimming and snorkeling. The park has a limited trail system that will take visitors through tropical rain forests, up steep mountains, and along beaches.
