SOUTH DOWNS WAY - England

Located on or near the coastline south of London, the South Downs Way offers the geologic wonder of the South Downs, gentle chalk hills formed over millennia as well as wonderful English history and culture.  Several miles of the trail run directly on cliff tops rising from the English Channel.  Running for roughly 100 miles between Eastbourne and Winchester, most walkers stay in B&Bs or small inns in towns that are located on or near the trail.
