Wind Cave National Park - South Dakota

Wind Cave, South Dakota, was one of the first national parks, established in 1903.  However, it’s been overshadowed by many other much larger national parks.  But it’s world-famous cave, along with it’s dramatic above-ground prairie landscape and successful reintroduction of native wildlife, make it a worthwhile addition to your national park life list.  We recommend and describe several hikes that will allow you to deeply appreciate this park.
